Straatnieuws 30th Anniversary Edition marks a significant milestone for the organization, transitioning from their traditional online newspaper format to their first-ever glossy magazine. Straatnieuws supports people in need within the community, and this special edition was designed to appeal to adult readers while reflecting the organization’s mission and community impact.
The magazine was developed collaboratively by a team of six students, with each member designing individual articles before collectively refining every page through group discussion and feedback. The client maintained close involvement throughout the weekly process, providing hands-on guidance and clear direction about expectations and deliverables. This collaborative approach offered valuable insight into the client’s vision, though the frequent input required careful time management to maintain project momentum.
Final production included close collaboration with the client on print editing details—adding barcodes, making text adjustments, and gaining practical experience in professional print preparation. Meeting demanding deadlines required the team to invest extra hours, with project management and progress oversight ensuring each article was completed punctually. The complete magazine represents a collective effort to honor Straatnieuws’s three decades of community service while establishing their presence in a new editorial format.
