Freaky Food Festival is a poster series designed for a traveling festival celebrating unconventional cuisine and inclusivity. The project includes three city-specific posters—one featuring animation—alongside a festival program and three custom patterns. The festival’s values center on embracing the freaky, fun, and unique aspects of both food and individuality.
The design concept features drag queens adorned in food-inspired attire, merging performance art with culinary themes. Drawing inspiration from Art Nouveau aesthetics, the series intentionally spotlights individuals often underrepresented in mainstream media, creating a visual celebration of diversity and self-expression. The moving poster incorporates animated drag queen performances while maintaining the Art Nouveau-influenced visual language consistent throughout the series.
The festival program was designed for easy on-the-go readability while preserving the aesthetic cohesion of the poster series. Three distinctive patterns complement the overall identity, reinforcing the festival’s eccentric character. The complete visual system communicates Freaky Food Festival’s commitment to unconventional experiences—offering a space where out-of-the-ordinary cuisine meets bold self-expression, all presented through a distinctively playful and inclusive design approach.
